My love for celebration started long before I ever called it a career. Growing up in the Midwest, I learned early on that true hospitality is about creating space for people to feel seen, connected, and cared for. What began as a love for hosting and planning gatherings for friends and family has become a deeply intentional approach to events, one that centers warmth, meaningful details, and genuine care for everyone in the room. My heart for people is woven into everything I do.
I hold a degree in Hospitality Management, with a focus in conference and event planning, from the University of Missouri along with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Over the past decade, I’ve brought events of every kind to life, from corporate incentives and luxury travel to intimate weddings and milestone moments. Through all of it, I’ve learned that the most memorable occasions are the ones designed with both intention and heart.
Today, through Occasions by Cydney, I combine creative vision with operational expertise to make each celebration feel effortless, allowing you to stay fully present in the moments that matter most. My approach is calm, thoughtful, and collaborative, because the best events aren’t just well-planned… they’re deeply felt.
When I’m not planning, you can usually find me in the kitchen with my rolling pin, curled up with a good book, catching up with my mom, or out exploring Kansas City. My daydreams range from my next vacation destination to meeting Taylor Swift at Trader Joe’s. Home is my favorite place to be with my favorite guy and our two pups, Theo and Charley. I live for slow mornings, Jesus Christ, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. I’m always looking for my next cup of coffee and any excuse I can find to gather the people I love around a table.
